What am I doing submitting two Jiang pics in a day? OTL
To be honest, I'm having human art block. I can only draw animals for now so please bear with me D:

So this time, it's Jiang. I'm posting this in case someone gets curious about my character again. Feel free to ask me anything. ANYTHING AT ALL.

Name:
Former: Ming
Updated: Jiang
[将 - jiàng, commander-in-chief] [江 - jiāng, river] (source: Chindict)
Also known as: Jiang, Master Jiang, Master Peacock

Species: Indian Peafowl
A large and brightly coloured bird of the pheasant family native to South Asia, but introduced and semi-feral in many other parts of the world. The female lacks the train, has a greenish lower neck and has a duller brown plumage. (Wikipedia)

Gender: Female
Fighting Style: Tai Chi Chuan
Appearance: Brown, Green, Blue and White plumage, blue eyes
Place of Origin: Gongmen City

Background
Jiang came from a family in the line of the royal peacocks and is raised as such. Her father, the royal right-wing man of the royal family, planned to raise her to be a lady however, due to Jiang taking interest in Kung Fu, her father had no choice but let her pursue her desire to be a master at an early age.

Since then, she was mentored by Gongmen City’s Master Thundering Rhino to the warrior she is today. Aside from Kung Fu, she learned chi blocking and healing with herbs and acupuncture while she was away.

Personality
Despite being often underestimated due to her docile and gentle appearance, Jiang is pretty much a mother hen to the people around her. While she is the last to resort to violence at most times, her personal matters are most definitely not to be touched. She becomes rather unforgiving if anyone crossed her line, especially when it came to matters that involved her alone. Often cheerful, she displays very long patience and playfulness that she would show to mostly anyone, including her opponents. Jiang also as much as possible tries to avoid conflict, more likely to talk things through than use her spear. Though in battle, she makes sure she achieves her goal and would stop at nothing to defeat her enemy.

Despite her healthy temper and high sense of humor, Jiang tends to get carried away by emotions. It rarely happens but it is when she stops thinking and decides to resort to a course of action. She avoids this as much as possible and would force herself to walk away and avoid anything that could affect her judgement. She would also lower her pride to anyone, but with the right cause. Otherwise, Jiang is also pretty much a prideful woman.

Fighting Style
Jiang’s fighting style is graceful yet deadly. She makes use mostly of her wings instead of her talons which serve for her defense only. Her main weapon is her crescent spear which would appear to be dancing before it attacks, much to the confusion of her opponent.

She is also experienced in chi blocking, a technique she learned during her 10-year journey away from Gongmen City. Though one of her most powerful resort, it is always the least of her choice.

Character Development
Early in development, Jiang was named Ming, meaning “bright”. She was intended to be a pied peahen who would sit at Gongmen City’s throne after Shen’s defeat. I had a hard time developing the story, mainly because I wanted to focus on her romantic relationship with Lord Shen which I later on scrapped. Since Ming turned out to be an irritating character, I made a huge revamping and turned her into Jiang, a complete opposite of Ming. While Ming was a princess who does not fight and would fall in love with Shen, Jiang is a warrior with a passion in Kung Fu and despite their relations, holds a deep grudge on Shen.

I originally was developing Ying Maoli until Jiang came along and all of my time was spent on her, as well as the fanfic I’m currently writing, Honor and Glory with her being the deuteragonist and Shen himself as the protagonist. It was a certain frustration to perfect her to a T.

Mulan is her biggest inspiration, as noted by Jiang’s skill for fighting despite being raised in a conservative manner. Not only that, but part of her personality is also inspired by Mulan. Katara of Avatar the Last Airbender is her next biggest inspiration, this time mainly on her fighting style. Waterbending was based from Tai Chi Chuan, and so I associate Jiang’s fighting movement with water, as well as her name. The moon and river are minor inspirations, only adding to Jiang’s fighting style. Jiang’s appearance then is based on an Indian Peahen and its common colors. And who’s anatomy is better to be based from than Lord Shen himself? Jiang’s body is just a lot more smaller and in some parts compared to Shen, but nonetheless, I did follow Nico Marlet’s style in drawing the peacock.

After her transition from Ming, Jiang’s appearance hardly changed.

That is all. Like I always say, I don't want to put up here everything about Jiang because it will give spoilers on my fic. =3=

I want to send a big hug to everyone who supports me and my OCs, and I mean ALL of them. You all know who you are :blowkiss:
